Guten Tag

Unlike previous versions of BE, BE 2012 does not lock the tape library during operations.  Are you looking for a way to lock the library?

I want to block my Overland Neo 2000 Tape Library with BE2012, so no one can take a tape out.

...then this becomes less of a Backup Exec query and more of a physical security query.

A couple of ways around this:

1. Put a password on the library itself which will require it to be put in should anybody try doing anything. Without the password, the library can't be unlocked, magazines removed etc. This doesn't prevent anybody physicall opening it or using an emergency release for the magazine/s if this exists.

2. Limit physical access to the server room if present, or hardware.

Even if you lock a tape library (which simply allows BE to access it exclusively), people can still get to it physically and remove what they want unless you place checks to stop this.

Thanks!
