Endpoint Protection

Anyone aware of any plans to offer cloud-based detection with SEP? This seems to be a hot technology now, especially in malware/spyware arena, and companies like PrevX and Panda are doing pretty good detection via both behavior-based detection (something SEP sucks immensly at) and signature-based detection via the cloud.
Any future plans to lighten up the client a little bit and switch to cloud-based platform, for at least mal/spyware?

TrendMicro is also coming up with such solutions..

Hope Symantec will pay some attention to this, I have seen few demos from other vendors, I feel cloud-based detection is its way to go.

Interesting that you put this forward, but no one seemed to take much notice.

I know that Microsoft also has a Cloud Based Detection model in the offing, but caqnt elaborate much on that due to NDA's in effect.

Wait and watch is the name of the game.
