clu-prod folder 17.4 Gigs!!
All,
I'm running LUA 2.3.1 and my clu-prod folder has grown to an ENORMOUS size (17.4 GB). The main reason this is a problem is that I have to copy that folder to another (standalone) network and the size is starting to become a problem.
Here are some details:
Products in that folder:
| Symantec Network Access Control v11.0 English |
| Symantec Endpoint Protection v11.0 English |
The preferences are pretty much stock, I see that this preference (Purge updates in Manage Updates folder) is set to purge updates daily older than 3 revisions back. In my CLU-PROD folder I see files dated 12/2011.
LUA 2.3.1 was installed CLEAN on 12/22/2011.
So my question, it there anything I can change in the preferences, or somewhere else, so that my clu-prod folder is not so large. I only need to keep a few revisions back, if that...because I also keep 5-10 revisions on my SEPM. Defs are updated and folder is copied over daily...
Any thoughts?
Mick?

Also...
Purge updates in Distribution Centers is set to daily...
This might help...
Although, the magic button ;-) that you requested has not arrived yet.

Hi Jason
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I've read through most of the documentation and this "solution"
The best current solution, if it is strongly believed that an existing DC contains files that it should not:
This will wipe out all of the current contents and replace them with only the current, known-good, valid materials from the LUA server's Manage Updates directory.
Is not exactly what I was hoping for.
Rebuilding the DC seems like a very long way to achieve this goal. I was hoping for a reply that stated the "Magic Button" was coming...or maybe a technical workaround from those who are willing to use unsupported methods to arrive at desired results.
Burning multiple Dual Layer DVD's every day to get the CLU-Prod folder over to other networks gets really tedious.
Anyone else have any supported/unsupported methods they are willing to share?
Thanks,
-Mike
