  • 1.  CMNCLNT TMP Files Not Clearing

    Posted Oct 15, 2014 06:48 PM

I have a number of servers that do not have internet access, and I believe as a result the .tmp files in this location are not deleting:

    C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\CurrentVersion\Data\CmnClnt

They are named like 00006279.tmp, 00010008.tmp, etc.

I have changed the settings in the External Communications Settings to remove the check box against Allow Insight lookups for threat detections, but this has not stopped the temp files piling up.

What's the exact SEP version here? And OS?

    What happens if you delete?

Delete works fine, and I do this when the C: drive space fills up on the servers. But as we have 70 servers in this category of having no internet access - all in the same group folder in the Management Console - it would be nice to turn whatever policy or setting creates these files on the clients.
