No release notes that I see, but according to the Altiris Beta site 2 of the biggest new features are patching for Mac OS X and Adobe products (Flash, Reader, and Acrobat IIRC).  I am taking the plunge with our dev system as we speak and will post anything interesting I see.

I was looking for release

I was looking for release notes as well.  There are 16 updates available and I don't know what they do.  I am installing them anyway but it would be nice to find a list.

That link is the randomly

generated link, however if it is article 47826, that is for Hotfix 2 of the Symantec Management Platform. I doubt CMS will have it's own release notes, more likely each related solution would.

(I could be wrong).

WTF

OK...this is just bad.

Releasing a whole service pack (I've got 20 updates in SIM) without any kind of release notes is just plain unacceptable.

Highlights from the

Highlights from the beta:

Adobe Patching via the Patch Remdiation Center
Mac patching through tasks to use the software update
The software catalog we've all probmised:  Last I saw it was up to 50K software resources

A couple of other improvements

But don't remember it all, bummer on no release notes

When clicking on the Release

When clicking on the Release Notes links for Inventory Solution 7.0 SP1 (https://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=48423&p=1), here's what I get:

Yup, I see the problem now.  Let me see if I can get it fixed.

In Progress

Apparently, all the documentation wasn't supposed to go live until 12:00 PM MDT so that is why some of the links aren't functional yet.  Give it 30 minutes or so and everything should be available.

Other than me being wrong (again)

both links work for me. When did you start posting RL for an entire suite? I can blame any stupity on my part on post-concussion syndrome. :)

Where's the mac patch

Where's the mac patch management?
I see reports available, but no agents or settings :\ It was supposed to be in this

UPDATE: I see the tasks. Kinda disappointing, but I guess I can make it work.

Mac Patching

Yes, managing available Mac software updates is very task-based in this release.   We'll look at making it available as "policy-based" as well for subsequent releases.

Just a thought on why I

Just a thought on why I dislike the utilization of Apple's Software Update mechanism:
no way to guarantee users won't log in during an update, and since there's no lights-out-management for Mac desktops, one is dependent on the user to power on the machine
Apple gets a lot of things right, patch management isn't one of them

After installing the updates I went to Help->Documentation Library from the console and the release notes are linked in there.

Individual Solution links still give permission error

When you click the link to the release notes of each individual solution, it still generates a permission issue. Some work, some don't.

Inventory 7.0 SL1 -    Error: You do not have permissions to view article 48423. Please return to the Customer Portal.
Inventory for Network Devices 7.0 SP1 - Error: You do not have permissions to view article 48422. Please return to the Customer Portal.
Patch for Windows 7.0 SP1 - Error: You do not have permissions to view article 48255. Please return to the Customer Portal.
Software Management Solution 7.0 SP1 - Error: You do not have permissions to view article 46575. Please return to the Customer Portal.

The rest seem to work ok. Of course, these are the most used ones though...  :-(
