I'm having a problem with download errors with this Trueview 2012 software.

From what i've read here: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/large-installation-package-fails-download

The package may have to many sub directories, i've followed the instructions there and even tried put placing the package on just c:\ but still fails on downloading at 57%

The package has 10 sub folders at the longest, does anyone know the maximum altiris can handle?

What's the size of the snapshot.xml file for this package?

Per the above KB, size cannot exceed 4MB.

based on the number of characters in the path, not the folder depth. And I think it's the Windows limit of 256.

Does your package have any hidden files or folders or any .bin files in it? There's one or two file extensions IIS doesn't like unless you configure it specifically.

Looks like in iis error I can get it to download via smb now.

How do you find out what file iis is complaining and configure it to allow them.

The altiris logs don't tell me which file it failed to download.

I'm not that concerted about iis now smb is working.

Is there a way to specify only use smb for downloading this package?

At the moment it tries http, fails then waits 5 mins before succeeding via smb.

NS7 may have the same setting.

IIS logs on the package server may tell you which file is being blocked.
