    Hi Everyone,

My colleague and I are working on creating software packages and we have come across an interesting issue. I've seen it before but thought the reason was that the path was too long but this recent intall proves that theory wrong. We are trying to do a software push for Word Perfect 12. The install files are setup and if I manually run the install command from my test devices everything seems to go through perfectly. The issue is when I run the deployment from Altiris. It seems like it copies the data to the cache folder (C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\SoftwareManagement\Software Delivery\{guid}\cache) but two files have been renamed from "CYRILLIC.map" and "GREEK.map" to "CYRILLIC.aexns_map" and "GREEK.aexns_map" as well as at least one file is missing.

I can rename those 2 files manually and it works but that's not really practical. The one file I know is missing is OD01.dta. All 3 files happen to be in the same sub-folder. The last time I saw what I thought were missing files (might have been renamed) was with an AutoCAD 2015 install I was trying to create. Has anyone seen this or know how to get this fixed? I'm not sure why the software package would make these changes unfortunately.

    Thanks

    Ryan,

Funny you brought this up today.  We have encountered it as well.

Ian's blog post has more details as well as my comment inside it will have the TECH article and other information you can use.

We had the same issue in our environment 7.5 SP1 HF3. Here is the article which describes the issue we had (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH228243) but there it only mention that the error appears with HF5. However this is not really true even though I did not get a detailed answer from Symantec they believe the error could be there in HF3 but they have only investigated and fixed it on HF5 systems.

So if you install HF5 you can request a pointfix from Symantec or you go directly to 7.6 where the fix is included as well.

Thanks for your help on this, it sounds like we'll be waiting until we go to 7.6 but we're not sure when that will be at this point.
