CMS & AMS Installation

HI All,

We already running CMS 7.1  in our environment and planning to go the AMS 7.x, Will anybody advise is it recommended that we can keep CMS and AMS on the same system. I know Inventory solution works well with Asset management system of software license. But is that possible that we can run the both system on seperate NS

Yes, in most environments you can run them on the same box.

Thanks for the quick reply but if i put on seperate box how can i get equal visiblity of assets information which i have already in CMS

Hi, You can link both product.

When installing a second server for an adittional product.

You will have when installing the AMS server to configure the DB that's when you have to say that you already have one and then put the parameter to the Symantec_CMDB. Then all ressources from the CMS will be available in the AMS.

Thanks Stephan for the reply, well make sense because i have already CMS running in environement so and it has the DB Symantec_CMDB, So during the fresh installation of AMS i just point the CMS DB, I will check and get back to you
