  • 1.  CMS: Separation of Duties

    I was wondering what the SOP is for using different accounts within the CMS product. Our previous deployment used/uses a Domain Admin account as everything. I currently have a service account (Domain User) that I installed with and configured to talk to off box SQL. I'd like different accounts to perform different duties for easier troubleshooting and separation of powers, so to speak. Suggestions?

    Yes you an use seperate accounts for different actions that allow you to specify an account, such as the AD Import functionality and the Altiris Agent Credentials.  Most enterprise customers that I have worked with implement this format.
