    Hi,

We recently installed Altiris CMS 7.1. When we did, we made a new wesite under IIS called Altiris. We also installed Symantec Service Desk onto this server. However, when installing Service Desk, you can't select the IIS website under which it has to be installed. It defaults to the Default Web Site. This results in conflicting bindings because the management platform also runs under 443. When you then try to create tickets etc(all SD modules) you get a 404 - not found because the default website didn't start because of the binding issue.

    We have 2 options:

    - Reinstalling the service desk website to the Altiris website which was installed initially

    - Moving CMS to the Default Web Site

I presume that the first option would be the better one. However, I can't seem to find any documentation on how to install Service Desk in another website or how to relocate it to another one. Can someone help me out with this?

    Thanks in advance!

I don't think that's supported at all. The ServiceDesk Server can't be an NS, it has to be a separate server.

Andykn101 is absolutely correct. You can't install ServiceDesk on the same server as SMP. You will experience severe performance issues.
