  • 1.  Collected Data for Installed Product

    Hi
     
    I am using GSS 2.  I was trying to produce an Inventory report listing all installed products on all PCs in Ghost.
    I was able to do this with GSS1 without any problems.  I am not sure what is going on It seems that any new machines that come into Ghost and some old machine do not list installed products. 
    I have product enabled in Collected Data sets.

    Just to clarify couple things:
     
    1.Inventory report worked with version 1.0 on all clients listing all the applications ?
     
    2.Ugrade take place to v 2.0 and after that on certain machines inventory is not listing all   software packages installed on clients?Which apps we are talking about?
     
    3.Did  you installed GSS LU package 2.0.1?

    Hi Mary,

    You mentioned new machines that joined to the console so the only issue I can think about is the Inventory refresh task that you maybe forgot to run.

    As far as some of the older machines, it can happen if the WMI version is old, then it doesn't collect all the information. So after running Inventory refresh task, check where these machines are. If they will be in Inventory not Collected or Incomplete support group you need to deploy WMI package that you can find in Ghost dir in ClientInstall folder.

        Yes.

    Which apps we are talking about? All apps.  My Machine was reporting all apps and now it is not.  As a matter of fact, I ran a report a few weeks ago and it was reporting all apps for all PCs in a division.
    Maybe there is database corruption?
     
    3.Did  you installed GSS LU package 2.0.1?  Not sure what that is.

    Hi Orah:
     
    Yes I ran a refresh inventory.  I also reran WMI install on W98 machines.  I am not seeing inventory on my machine (XP) and I did a few weeks ago. 
    Should I be seeing Installed Product under Inventory|Collected Data|Application?  I cannot recall back to GSS1.0
    I have run a refresh configuration and refresh Inventory.

    I am getting other inventory information.  I am not getting Installed Product information.

    I am all set.
    Installed Products in the Collection data set was set not to collect data.  Not sure what happened, but it is correct now.

    Hi Mary ,
     
     
    There is a Live Update package released recently for GSS 2.0 and it is called 2.0.1 (build 1533).
     
    Please run Live Update and upgrade your GSS system to 2.0.1.Once your system was successfully upgraded
     
    run Inventory again and see is that going to make any difference.
