Collector Studio DB2 JDBC driver issue

Created: 03 Oct 2012 • Updated: 04 Oct 2012 | 2 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

I am running into an issue with collector studio when attempting to access a DB2 database via jdbc. I connected to this database using jdbc via SQL Squirrel and following the instructions on this site.

The problem I am running into is that it appears I need both jars (db2jcc.jar and db2jcc_license_cu.jar) for the jdbc connection to function properly. I tried removing db2jcc_license_cu.jar from the SQL squirrel driver I created and it does not work in that case. Is it possible to include both jars in the Sensor Property List?

When I attempt to just put in these values for the sensor I get an error when testing the sensor:

JDBC Drivers Directory | C:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\java

DatabaseDriver | db2jcc.jar

JdbcDriverFiles | Cannot find JDBC driver class "db2jcc.jar". It is possible an incorrect "JDBC Drivers Directory" was specified. at at

Odd error because I can see db2jcc.jar in that directory.

Use property:

JdbcDriverFiles = db2jcc.jar;db2jcc_license_cu.jar

Hi all,

I am a new starter to IBM DB2 collector, if I choose to install the collector on Information Manager, do I need to install Symantec Event Agent on DB2 Machine???

Could you please provide the full steps on DB2 collector installation
