Created: 17 Jan 2013 | 9 comments

Hi

At site1 where my SSIM appliance reside, i installed collectors like snare, sidewinder, juniper. I did a netstat -a, all the required ports 1056.1057,1058 are alll open and listening. At site 2, i installed the similar collectors, i did a netstat -a, none of the required ports are open. Why ???

Hi,

Leave default syslog port(UDP) 514 open ...and then you can try.

At site 2, do you have the collecotr sensor distributed to appropriate agents? May be at site1, you have these sensor configurations distributed, but at site 2 you don't......?

Hi,

Check your sensors configurations on both sites..and then distribute it.

Are you sure the config you made is deployed at second site ?

If you go in properties of your SSIM/Agent and check if they are in sync ?

Hi

Collector sensor is distributed to appropriate agent. Right-clicked and distributed

Under Visualizer>table view>under name> Juniper>

one site status is sensor up, the other is unknown.

Is the Agent up in the visualizer? May be the agent service is stopped? Also, please verify the system state monitors....

Is the Agent up in the visualizer? No it is not.

May be the agent service is stopped? i verify it is <connected> in agent management.

Please check and confirm installation of Agent first....

Then check the installation of collectors....

Then try pushing the sensor config from SSIM console to the perticular Agent by adding that Agent under properties of sensor config...

If everything above is checked and working , then confirm whether you are receving any error at collector...

Also please confirm whether all connectivity test has been succeded at the time of Agent installtion or not??

If not then check for the exact error......(local firewall may be culprit sometime)...

Hope that helps you!!

hi

I found the solution but i don't understand why. i deleted the file below,

c:\program files(x86)\common files\symantec shared\SES\Adapter.info.cfg

The sensor is suddenly up.
