  • 1.  Combine a Ghost Image on 4 CDs to a Ghost Image on 1 DVD

I have created an image of a laptop that is stored onto 4 seperate CDs (no DVD burner on the laptop).  Is there a way to combine the 4 seperate CDs onto a single DVD using a different machine that has a DVD burner?  Would I also be able to make this DVD bootable?  I am using the Ghost Suite 2 (with Ghost 11).

    Thanks for the help...

    Hi DruCru

You can add all your image span's and place them on one DVD but that media is not going to be bootable.

In GSS supported way is to use Ghost Boot Wizard options.
Than you create bootable media with added support to create bootable CD/DVDs using Ghost.exe.

    Cheers

You can combine the use of 3rd party tools and GBW to crate a bootable dvd containing your image files.
Create a cd/dvd boot floppy with Gost Boot Wizrad, you will end up with two floppies but you only need the first. Edit the autoexec.bat removing the mouse.com and the lines that try to construct the ghost.exe in the ramdrive, ie. anything line with 'joinxe' or 'ghost'.

Now use a tool such as Nero to create a bootable dvd, add the files you need to the data track ie. your image files and tools such as ghost.exe etc. that you will need. Then let the program use your edited boot floppy to make the dvd bootable.

Once booted you will have to find the drive letter given to your dvd drive, I think it get displayed when the oakrom.sys loads but if you miss it just try changing drive letter until you find it. Now run Ghost.exe from there.

    Hope this helps,
    Morgan
