When I send commands to clients some are shown as not received and yet I know the command has run at the time the command was sent. I have tried this with scan and restart client commands and both commands run on the client but SEPM shows them as not started because they weren't received.

There are no communication issues, i.e. I can ping the management server, telnet to the management server and remote desktop to it from all clients

    There are no firewall issues

All policies are up to date

All definitions are up to date

In the Clients view of SEPM the affected clients don't have a green dot which suggests a comms issue but I have proved this not to be the case

I recently updated SEPM from 11.03.xxxx to 11.0.7000.975. I had the problem pre and post upgrade

All clients are running Endpoint Client version 11.0.5002.333

    Any ideas?

    Hello,

    Could you check on the SEPM home screen Left hand side Bottom Corner;

How many clients are reportedly requires a Restart?

How many does have Antivirus Engine OFF?

How many does have Auto-Protect OFF?

How many does have Tamper Protection OFF?

How many are on Not Reporting Status?

Incase, if you have any clients, which have Antivirus Engine OFF, Auto-Protect OFF OR Tamper Protection OFF make sure you uninstall the same and reinstall them.

Incase, any machine requires a restart, please do the needful and incase, some clients are in Not Reporting status probably, these have never reported to the SEPM.

    Could you check the same.??

Any chance you are using AD sync and if so, are the computer names longer than 15 characters?

I have a similar issue where if the computer name is longer than 15 characters (SEP uses NetBIOS), it appears twice in the console; the full/correct named system shows offline, another instance of the same system truncated at 15 characters shows up as online.

The names are less than 15 characters
