  • 1.  Common SEP Centralized Exceptions

    Hi,

We're just wanting to find out what others are using for SEP Centralized Exceptions and if there would be any potential issues with adding "%windir%\system32\proquota.exe" - the Profile Quota Manager tool as an additional exception?

    Our enviroinment consists of SEPM v11.0.6005, SEP Clients v11.0.5002 & v11.0.6005, Altiris SVS 2.1 or SWV 6.2 in a Windows 2003 R2 Native Forest/Domain with XP/Vista and Win7 clients.

We currently have the following centralized exception set:

    SEPM>Policies>Centralized Exceptions>{Policy_Name}>Centralized Exceptions
    C:\Layers
    C:\FSLRDR
    %[WINDOWS]%\csc
    %[PROGRAM_FILES]%\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Software Delivery\

We have some reported issues with "proquota.exe" consuming high % CPU and are thinking that if it's excluded then performance on the end points might improve slightly.

    Thanks in advance.

if it is experienced in your organization, then exclude the process.

you don't even have to mention the entire path if only one file is to be excluded. Once you indicate proquota.exe it will be just enough.

if there is any slowness while accessing data from remote network, you may consider installation of SEP client MR4 MP2 v 11.0.4202.75 on a machine hosting such a service/file. It is recognized that this version works much better than newer releases.
