This issue has been solved. See solution.

I have just completed the installation of SEP Small Business ver12 and Symantec seems to have removed a tremendous amount of the controls that were present with ver11 of SEP.  In version 11 of SEP, you could easily change communication settings in the SEP Manager from push to pull and also adjust the frequency for the client check-ins using the heartbeat settings.  How can I change these same settings in SEP12?

Thanks.

Ken

In SEP 12 SBE those settings

In SEP 12 SBE those settings have been removed from the manager.

SPC client communication is assigned dynamically. If  the server is already using port 8014 then the SPC will change to the next available port.

You can view the port that is in use on the Management Server screen.

Thanks for your input.  So do

Thanks for your input.  So do you happen to know if the settings are push or pull for the communications?  Also the heartbeat frequency?  I recall that the default settings with SEP11 would flood the network with unnecessary SEP traffic.  I always felt good with using pull instead of push and changing it from every 5 minutes to 60.

Kenneth, Communication runs

Kenneth,

Communication runs in Push mode, with 5 minute intervals. There is no way to modify defaults.

Cheers,
Thomas
