I don't want excess network traffic between our numerous clients and the SEP server.

Are these Communications Settings sufficient to prevent excessively heavy network traffic??

1. Use pull mode

2. Heartbeat set to 4 hours

3. Enable randomization

4. Use a 15-minute period randomization window

About 5-6 servers (physical, virtual) monitored and about 40-75 PCs monitored, servers of course are always on and PCs will be off/on at different times. The SEP server itself is a virtual server.

yes Pull mode is always best.

it depends, for 75 machines, 2-3 hour could be the one i can think of.

SEP server on VM is supported. the client numbers shuggested here around 80.

You can configure the GUP in the network to reduce little load on the SEP server.

Based on the size of your network I bet SEP wont bring any network issue to you, however here are some recommendations you could use:

I decided to go with pull mode, 2 hours heartbeat, 15 minutes randomization.

Thank you for all the links, we have not had any network issues with SAV 10.x giving updates to about the same number of computers, so we will try the above.
