  • 1.  Compatibility with Ad-Aware 2008

    Hello:
     
    Lavasoft just released a new version of Ad-Aware (version 2008) that now includes anti-virus technology (within the Ad-Aware 2008 Plus and Pro versions) and I was curious to know whether this new version (with its anti-virus component) is fully compatible with SAV 10.x, since standard information technology practice highly recommends only installing and running one (1) anti-virus product on the same machine.

    I've heard running 2 av products will cause them to butt heads.  Never experienced it though.  I've used previous versions of adaware, but they didn't detect in real time.  WHen I ran a scan it didn't butt heads with Symantec even though adaware caught some viruses.
     
    I'd test, test, test....

    2 AV products probably means two drivers fighting for the same resource... I tried it myself (not with lavasoft but with other AV vendors) and all I got were blue screens ;-).

    As cmartinj says, test test test.
