Hi All,

I have already PGP 10.1.1 ( Enterprise whole disc encryption , sdk 4.0.1 ). I will switch to Windows 7.

This version runs on W7 - right ?. Then I will switch from Ghost 10.0 to Ghost 15.0. Is PGP and Ghost 15.0 compatible ? Can I have a save backup from an encrypted disc with ghost 15.0 to an external non encrypted disc.

Is there anything special to do in the parameters of Ghost 15.0 ?

Last question :

I heard of a bug , when a SSD ( boot disc ) is running on W7 and is encrypted by PGP .

You can't boot the disc anymore because of the wrong BIOS version.

Does this bug still exist ? And with which BIOS Version I will have the bug ?

At the moment I run American megatrends v2.61.

Thx for your help.

BR

Yes, 10.1.1 supports Windows

Yes, 10.1.1 supports Windows 7.

I'm not personaly familiar with use of Ghost 15 and PGP, but maybe someone else will have experience with this combination.  This Knowledge Base Article may be helpful.

Most machines with Windows 7 do not have a problem using SSO - my personal laptop does not.  I don't see anything in the Knowledge Base about your BIOS.  It may be helpful if you mention your computer maker and model number.

WIN 7 is compatible with PGP,

WIN 7 is compatible with PGP, you can safely encrypt the drive.

Ghost is used for backup/clone partitions. I dont see the need of cloning encrypted partition, its not recomended at all. After deploy .you will probably have authentication issues and information will be lost.

You should ghost unencrypted windows partition, and encrypt after deployed.

Note that if you have already authenticated and booted windows , you can copy this information to any external drive, pendrive, server, your information will be stored without decryption. But I mean copy single files/folders, not the whole partition. You don´t want to do that.
