Compellent ASL installation error

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Anyone seen this before:

 

Installing Compellent Array Support Library as <VRTScompellent>

pkgadd: ERROR: unable to read </tmp/asl/VRTScompellent/install/CVS>: (21) Is a directory
pkgadd: ERROR: error while reading file </tmp/asl/VRTScompellent/install/CVS>: (21) Is a directory
pkgadd: ERROR: unable to copy <CVS>
        to </var/sadm/pkg/VRTScompellent/install>

Installation of <VRTScompellent> failed (internal error) - package
partially installed.

Information about your OS, OS version, VxVM/DMP version and the version of the ASL would also help. I'm guessing its either:

or

also, did you verify the

also, did you verify the checksum of the package of you have downloaded the intact package ?

can u also mention the exact step u used to add the the package ?

As Gaurav mentioned, there may be a problem with the content of the package (bad download etc). Also check sys log for any messages indicating file system errors.

Problem was running it from

Problem was running it from /tmp, once I moved it to a different location it worked. I was able to open a support ticket and they had the same problem.

I was root and the checksum was OK.
