Compress an existing image?

I wasn't paying attention to size and created an image that won't fit on a single DVD. I didn't compress it durring creation, I don't want to span 2 DVDs and it's just a bit over.

Is there a way to compress an image that already exists short of restoring it to a hard drive creating the image again with compression?

Hi,

There is no other way to do it. Using Ghost32 you will be able to do it in a Windows machine.

What I've done is open the image using Ghost Explorer, go to View -  Options and deselect the span check box. Go to file and Compile. You'll have to save the image under a different name, but once it's done, delete the old image and rename the new one again. I've done this several times and have had no problems

It is likely that you may need to wait a while to see this option. When loading a large image, you can see the progress in the status bar at bottom. For a large image, it could take minutes to load. Could you check again once it says loading completed?
