Computer rights needed to download and run AV definition file successfully on servers

  • 1.  Computer rights needed to download and run AV definition file successfully on servers

    Posted Nov 05, 2012 03:16 AM

We are using SEP version 12.1 RU1 MP1 on our management servers and the clients are using version 12.1. Some of the servers in our network are not getting updated automatically, i.e. they are not fetching the definitions from management servers. And when I try to update them manually by downloading and running the latest definition, it shows me access error or "updates failed to install" error.

I want to know what priviledges I would need on my ID to successfully download and run the AV definitions on our servers.

Make sure that your a Domain Admin if your having a Domain environment or else Admin with full rights should do the trick.

I have tried with admin priviledges and it is working fine with that. But in our enviroment, it isnot possible to get the admin priviledges on my ID.

Can someone tell me all the system rights required to download and run AV definitions on servers.

    Hello,

Remove duplicated SEP client on SEPM console

Configure SEPM to remove clients which have not connected within a specific number of days.

    1. Open SEPM and select the Admin panel.
    2. Click on Servers
    3. Right click on the Site where your management servers are located and choose Edit Properties
    4. Check "Delete Clients that have not connected for __ Days"
    5. Enter a value for Days.
    6. Click OK.
