  • 1.  Computer View Security Settings

    I have made some custom security changes for our solution center techs.

    Everything was perfect in Altiris 7.1

    When I upgraded to 7.5 everything is the same except one thing and I have been looking for it for a day now but cannot find it.

    When on the computer slide, there is a section to view the status of jobs and tasks.  That does not display for the security role I made for these techs.

    You can schedule a job from there (I figured that one out in about 4 hours), it just doesn't show up after you actually schedule the job.

    I know its a simple security role that I am missing, but all the ones I can see don't make the status visable from that screen.

    If you go under the jobs and tasks slide, find the job and click on it status shows up.  I would think that security should carry over to the Computer slide, but it does not.

    Any clue that anyone can provide would be most appreciated :)

    Hi Ray

    We have seen the same issue in a new 7.5 SP1 environment. You need to give your security rule "system read" permission on the following report "Reports\Task Server\Status\All Jobs/Tasks - Status Summary" this has fixed the issue for us.

    You Sir are the man!  That worked like a charm.  No wonder I couldn't find it I would have never thought to give permission to a report to allow that to be displayed.
