  • 1.  Computers Not Able to Access Verification Server

    I recently signed up for a trial of endpoint security for business, and after adding several computers, the cloud management console says that it is awaiting the computers activation. It has been on this state for nearly 5 hours now. When doing a network test, it randomly keeps failing sending messages to the server. When I click on 'Home' in the client, 90% of the time the connection times out. 

    What seems to be the problem, and is this an indication of the level of service to expect from this product? If so, I will take my business elsewhere as we need something that's reliable and works as intended when security is involved.

    From Symantec:

    Symantec is aware of a delay on the Endpoint Protection Cloud servers that is causing agents to be unable to validate installs, activate installs, install or activate services, or request a 13-digit Pin for activation.

    The issue is being actively addressed, and resolution is in progress. No action is required on your part. We want to assure you that your Endpoints are still protected and functioning correctly. We will send an additional alert once the issue is corrected.
