  • 1.  Computers Not Update Definition

    I have multiple computers that show “Your computer is protected” “No Problems Detected,” but they computers are days if not weeks out of date. I get the green dot and everything appears correct. In the SEPM it shows that the computers are checking in as of today. Why are they not getting triggered to pull down updates?

    Any Ideas would be helpful.

    check if your manager has the definitions
    admin -servers -local site -liveupdate
    show liveupdate
    check 32 and 64 bit downloads; if its not downloading try this document.

    Login into the SEPM

    Admin-->server-->local site--> Show liveupdate downalods

    Check if the SEPM is upadted or not

    The manager has the definitions. I have many other computers that are up to date.
    This is really weird. I have been forced to manually update random boxes to get the back up to date. This is starting to become an issue. Thanks for your reply Rafeeq.

    I have gone through these steps before on various computers. This does seem to alleviate the problem. If the issue is corrupt definitions, the next question would be, what is causing the corruption on so many boxes. should I start a new thread, or continue in this on for the corruption issue?

    You can use the same thread ;
    Not sure about why they get corrupted; we need to clear it our by manually or running Intelligent updater on these machines will also update them and clear the defs

    At this point I download def’s from intelligent updater and update the boxes manually every few days. What’s so strange about this is, I can not narrow it down to any certain computer. It seems to pop up randomly on different computers.
