Please take a look on these steps to make sure that you've properly configured all required settings
1. Make sure that your machines x86 and x64 have installed Monitor Agent
- This can be checked using Monitor Solution filters in SMP Console
2. Make sure that your enabled Monitor Policies have "Detection" settings which are met for your computers which you're trying to monitor.
- To check what kind of detection rules are applied in your Monitor policies, you can open "Detection" tab on each monitor policy and ensure that they are met for your clients and will be successfuly applied
3. You can check which monitor policies are/were successfuly applied on your client computer.
- This can be verified using "Resource Manager" for client computer from SMP Console
When "Resource Manager" will be opened, then click on "View" -> "Inventory" -> expand "Monitor" folder and click on "Monitor Detected Policies". Here you will see which Monitor Policies are successfully applied on your client computer.
4. If you've made sure that Monitor Agent is installed and Monitor policies are successfuly applied on client computer, then you need to verify that this client is really get monitored.
- This can be verified, using Monitor Solution filters in SMP Console
5. Now you can check "Real Time Performance Viewer" to open metrics from monitored client computer and see their values in real-time mode. But if you will not be able to connect to client computer via "Real Time Perfomance Viewer", then verify that:
- Monitor Agent service is running and isn't crashed or stopped.
- Default Monitor Agent 1011 port is opened and is listening, since if 1011 port will be closed then it will be impossible to open "Real Time Performance Viewer" to this monitored resource.
6. Alerts will appear in "Event Console" only if rule will be triggered on your monitored client computer.
- For example, if RAM is < 32MB per 5 minutes, then rule will be triggered on client computer and alert will appears in "Event Console".
Thanks,
IP.
