    Hi All,

Am having difficulty configuring the email notifications parameters for sending alert emails about security network in the Symantec Reporting Configuration.

    I have been abke to
    1. Login in the Reporting Server
    2. Able to reach interface requiring to input the SMTP Server, the sender email, the URL of the reproting server.

Am however not able to find the batch file under \Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\Reporting Agents\Win 32.

I cannot find the Batch file under this directory. What name is given to this file? Does have a .bat ext or could it be having another file extension name? Do I need to create it? Or is it just missing. Can I copy it from Somewhere. What can I do to have this file in place.

Or is there an altenative way in which I can have my Alerts working.

    Thanks for advice.

    Rgds
    Moses

You do not need a batch file to send alert emails.  By default the value in the box should just be batch.bat (or something similar).  You can delete the text from that box and leave it blank.

You actually configure the alert emails by going to the Alerts tab and then Alert Configuration.  Choose the appropriate alert from the drop-down box and click Create Alert.  Fill out the appropriate information, check the box for Send e-mail to and provide a valid internet email address (user@domain.tld).  Click save.

That should be it.  Make sure that your alert agent (Admin tab -> Agent Configuration -> Alert Agent) has a valid SMTP server listed (either by IP or by FQDN hostname).
