Confugring FT media server

Hi ,

 

I am ratish ,In my organisation we are using netbackup 7.5.We are now planing to go for SAN based backup.

I have gone through several document.I got an idea ,but i need to know

1.Is there separate installation package for FT media server.

2.How the FT media server communicates through the master server.

CAn any body help me in step by step configration details,or any similar video which helps in that.

1: no - is part of the standard installation.

2: Via LAN. The client also talk to the media server via LAN but it's only control data.

I have one more query,

The FT media server installation has to be done in Linux platform with the standard installation package right.

Yes - A normal media server installation contain the FT media server part - you do not need to anything "extra".

The FT server part just need to be configured and the services to be started.

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.
