Im running BE version 8.x and all of a sudden Im getting the follwoing error on the backup of some machines

The connection to the data to backup has been lost
Backup set canceled.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^

This only appears to happen when backing up the System?State

Any suggestions on what can be done??? Please.
