  • 1.  Connection not possible after cloning

    Posted Mar 30, 2010 10:24 AM

    Hi,

I have imaged a Windows 2003 Server with GSS 2.5.
In this server, I replace the system disk with a bigger one then I clone the server image on the new disk.
The disk cloned has two partitions originally mapped on logical drives C: and E:

All this is running smoothly but when I try to connect with the user "administrator" on the cloned system,
after entering the password the session opens then closes almost immediatly and I return to the connection screen.

Until now, I have not been able to figure out what can cause this problem.

    Thanks,
    Jean-Pierre

    Hi,

This is really strenge problem. Is this syspreped image? Do you have any other user on this OS which has administrator previleges? If yes then you can give it a try with this user.

    Hi Nitin,

I'm sorry, it thought the problem could be related to the cloning with GSS because it did'nt exist on the source system.

I could finally fix it by patching the MountedDevices values on the cloned system (where the partitions were not assigned with the proper logical drive).
Cloning again from the patched system ran smoothly (so the problem seems to be located in the first souce system).

    Thanks,
    Jean-Pierre
