connectivity

This issue has been solved. See solution.

From client, confirm connectivity with Netbackup server:

  • # /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -pn
      # /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -server "server name"
      # /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd ip "ip_address"
  • Here in above command from Client, server name and ip_address are the master server or media server name/ip?

-pn is the only options that checks actual connectivity with master.

-hn simply does a name lookup, no connectivity test.
-ip does reverse lookup, no connectivity test.

Test for all servers that client needs connectivity to - master and all media servers that can backup the client.

PS: Why is it that all of you are battling with same connectivity issues?
