Anyway I can find out what makes the console so slow. Its something we have just lived with but decided to do something about it now.

    Any helpful pointers!

Example : Click on manage computers - it takes 20 seconds to complete showing all the computers (we have 1100 machines in the console 800 managed)

From there i click on manage - -> jobs / tassks. It takes 14 seconds to complete.

From there manage policies and it takes 8 seconds.

be curious to see what other users reposnse speeds are.

    Thanks

    Hi JannasTo,

Please take a look at this post: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/altiris-console-performance-enhancement-client-management-71-sp2-mp-11 - something mentioned there might be helpful in your case as well.

Also, please check if your SQL server memory is not consumed completelly to the limit. And check if some process on NS uses CPU constantly for 80-100%.

    Thank you,

    Alex.

    Hello

In my experience, I would recommend double checking schedules for Notification Server tasks.  We realized that a lot of scheduled tasks were running on the notification server around the same time each morning which would result in an NSE backup until the smoke cleared.  There is a great tool, http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH202997, called SMPDiag which you can run on your notification server.  This tool performs a battery of performance and configuration checks and has extensive repair instructions built in for each issue.

    Thanks,

    Paul
