Content filtering rules and Event Log.

Created: 21 Dec 2007 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments

I uses Mail Security for MS Exchange 5.0.
There are "content filtering rules" enabled in the server.
When a mail message violates a rule new warning message appears in Application Log of Event Viewer.
I use content filtering rules to delete spam messages and get about 5000 messages in Event Log every day.
Can I tune Mail Security to receive warning messages from content filtering rules in custom created Log of Event Viewer? Or can I get no warning messages in Application Event Log from content filtering rules?

I am not quite getting 5000 messages in the Application Log, but we are getting enough that it is making it tough to scroll through.

If anyone has any ideas on how to stop the messages in application log please let me know.

Thanks,

Answer on my question.
The next article from symantec knowledge base can be used to decrease messages in application log.

Limiting the information written to the Application Event Log by a Symantec Mail Security product:
