This issue has been solved. See solution.

My clients are keeping updates for a number of months on end, i have followed this http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/68c0186409c1fc59652575ec004e9950?OpenDocument

But this seems limited to the server side for content revisions.

Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads%appdata%/Symantec

Live update & content revisions  - i'm asking if these are the same things, if not - can someone explain how i can limit the number of updates kept.

Thanks

@ Jedi,

To my knowledge, the content revisions should match up with the SEP client has well. You can check the usage.dat (text file) in the virusdef folder and see. Though, I have found the named content folders don't always delete.

VirusDef folder XP:
\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs

Win7:
\ProgramData\Symantec\Definitions\VirusDefs

Jedi,

Liveupdate is the metnod/Medium though which Content or the updtaes are downloaded.

Content revision is the a specific number given to the updates those are downloaded by Liveupdate.

Here is an articles

Title: 'Best Practices for configuring the number of content revisions to keep in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager'

Thanks & Regards,
