We have multiple scanners and two control centers.  We recently migrated all servers to a new domain.  Now one of the control centers is not accessbile via port 41443, but still is accessible if logged into the server (using https://localhost:41443/brightmail).

The servers were moved to the new domain in the same manner and are both in the same OU and getting the same Group Policy...no windows firewall, smssmtp services all start ok, mail flow is ok.

I have tried using hostname/direct IP/telnet and cannot connect from either a workstation or another server in the same subnet (although I can connect with telnet to port 25).  I am not familiar with Tomcat I really don't know where to start to verify the most basic settings for the console webapp.

If you've previously restricted console access using Tomcat valves, this might help you sort it out.

    Sorry, I knew I left something important out...it's SMS SMTP 5.0.1 (patch 189).  Server 2003 Ent. SP1

Ah OK :)Check the Control Centre settings for access restrictions:

I checked this yesterday...it was set to 'all hosts' and just to be sure, I added my machine and applied the setting, then tested (failed), then set it back to 'all hosts' and removed my entry.  So I was hoping to effectively reset it if it was locked down but not showing the correct setting in the window.

Should I still look at the Tomcat valves?

Bizarre that it works locally but not remotely.

Any errors in the tomcat logs? C:\Program Files\Symantec\SMSSMTP\logs\tomcat

I don't know which logs to look at, but there hasn't been an update to any logs in that directory since the morning I posted here...can you give me more specific details on how to check the logs?

Found a security template that was apparently activated during the move to the new domain...not sure how this would have taken place but it was there and when it was deactivated access was restored.

the local security policy was an IP Security Policy.
