We are being asked to move from our SQL 2005 server to SQL 2008 R2 server. How do I move the databases for CCS (Control Complinace Suite) 10.5? There are at least 4-5 databases it has created and I need to move to a new version of SQL as we retire SQL 2005. Anybody know how to do this? I cannot find anything from the console of the CCS server.

I do not believe there are any machine links in the databases that would prevent you moving them.

I'm have not had to do this ...and I'm sure others will chime in with better more detailed instructions. I would think you could detact the database, back it up and then restore it to the new system.

You would need to adjust the settings inside of CCS to point it to the new machine as well.

Do you have a lab that you could test it out in or a test environment ?

See the following link to a KB article containing step-by-step instructions for accomplishing your task:

As pointed out by Kevin_k above, I would definitely test this in a lab environment using your version(s) of SQL to ensure you don't come across any environment specific issues. Your main concerns post-migration will be to ensure all of your Asset Import, Data Import, Evaluation Jobs, and Synchronization Jobs complete properly. Finally, make sure your dynamic dashboards render properly.
