Convert to VM

When using BackupExec 2012 to Convert a physical machine that it has backed up to a Virtual machine, After the "restore"/"Convert" process is finished, is the virtual machine automatically powered on?

I want to convert a few machines that i have in my environment to Virtual Machines, But i do not want a situation where the physical machine is on at the same time that the virtual machine is on (bad things happen), so i want to make sure that when i do the restore, the virtual machine is in a powered off state until i turn it on.

Thanks.

Hi,

Check the TN below...I don't think the new VM is automatically powered up, but it is bootable:

Thanks!

Hi,

The machine is not powered ON at the end of the conversion process.

Moreover, although it's bootable and you can safely boot it, the network card has to be separately (manually) added to the VM, therefore, you be sure there will not be conflict issues until then :)
