Hi,

I'd like to downgrade our development server's DB from SQL to Embedded, as for development we don't use more than 100 computers. Can someone point me to the steps to d othis correctly. I've backed up the DB (ZIP). Thank you.

Is this for SEPM? If so, what version?

You can follow disaster recovery procedure

Yes, its for SEPM, but version 11. I'm looking to convert from MS SQL to embedded. Its not a disaster recovery.

You can go from embedded to SQl but I don't believe sql to embedded will work, hence DR steps:

Can you please confirm ? We had this setup a while ago, and I'd like to change our development and QA setup to an embedded database.

You're saynig there is no tool to do this or there's way whatsoever. If I export the DB and reattach it to a new instance... ? Thanks.

There are no articles to support going from SQL to embedded. Everything is for converting embedded to SQL. I've always been told Symantec does not have steps to do this. Everything I've seen suggest to do DR for this particular process.

If you want to try it, it would probably be unsupported by Symantec if something goes wrong.

For complete confirmation, I would suggest checking with Symantec.

Another Symantec employee also suggest DR here:
