  • 1.  Copy File Task over existing file

I have a file I would like to use the copy file task to replace an existing file.  For some reason it fails if the file exist.  If I delete the file before it will work.

Is this just how this task is designed?  Is there anyway to make it copy the file if it exist or not?

Crazy if I have to create a job with one task to delete and another then to copy.

Well I know they did not fix this in v3 because I'm running v3.  I know they just released v4 but I have not installed it yet.

Thanks for the information this explains it for now I will have to use my delete task then run the copy task.

    Check the attach link

May be you are using the version SMP 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup v2 or lower version.

'Copy File' tasks will not overwrite files that are already present on the destination system

I'm running v3 I know this but there is one deployment file I had to backdate because I was told they would include it in all code going forward but was not in v3.  Maybe this fix exist in this v3 file??
