You know when the software is bad when the guys on  th servicdesk have stopped using PCanywhere and started using WebEX! They have got so fed up reporting problems with this software they just cant be bothered anymore.

The most recent issue to hit us :

What other experience do you have with it? We are thinking of implementing it.

I'm pretty sure if we were starting with the current version of PCA from scratch it wouldn't be so bad. It's just the amount of updates that we have did over time (we started on the utterly abysmal CMS v7.0 version) and agents not updating (mostly over VPN) thats caused problems. I also think its slower than other tools I've used. And then theres the constantly having to enter credentails and domain into the box every single time you want to connect to a machine....

Also, one other thing that is a pain - If you have a user contact support and they are on the VPN and for whatever reason they dont have the CMS agent installed, or the right PCA plugin - there is no way of connecting to that machine. We can do it if we use alternative software though.

asking for credentials everytime to connect would we be perfect for us, since we are in a highly secured environment.  for users not having CMS agent, this would be a good opportunity to install the Altiris agent and for running correct version of the PCA plugin, i would disable auto upgrade of the plug in and roll it out. So you know exactly who still needs to have it.
