Corrupt download of SEP SBE v12.1

I have today purchased and downloaded SEP SBE v12.1 which is a 6.2G zip file, and all I seem to get is a file that is corrupt.

I have tried a few times on both windows and mac and used winzip, 7zip, mac archiver and windows extractor to extract the files but it always fails in the same place ( the 7th out of 14 files).

Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

On a similar point. I can look into the zip archive and I notice that there are MP1 versions and RU1 versions. What is the difference between them?

Hi Ashish

As I have just purchased it I havent got a Serial Number for the product so cannot login to the FileConnect website. I havent received an email with any licensing or serial numbers in it. Does this come with the license agreement that is emailed to me in 3-5 business days. If so then it looks like I have to wait or if not then how do I get a Serial Number?

6.5 Gb !! it's odd.

get the serial number to download the executable from fileconnect.

Yes its a big DVD.

I would get the serial number if the licensing department would send me one. Unfortunately they dont seem to be responding in any quick fashion. Why the system cannot automatically send one out when you purchase something is an odd way of working, sending one by email at the point of purchase would be more user friendly, after all if you buy the hard product you get it there and then.

Looks like I will have to wait till something comes up.

The Symantec website is a terribly designed one for user friendly usage. I cannot find support issues that I have raised because it always wants me to register and then goes back to the start.

Not a happy Symantec customer...

Hello,

I agree with pete. Download of 6.5 GB is odd.

Check this Article:

Understanding the Downloads of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.1 available on Symantec FileConnect website.

Make sure you download just the Part1_Installation_EN.exe of  the DVD.

Hi

Yes its 6.5G. Its a zip of a DVD. You cannot choose which item on the DVD to download so you are stuck with downloading all of it. When using mac archiver to decompress it, it fails and doesnt leave you with any part that it is has successfully decompressed, so you get nothing.

On windows you can at least get the items in the zip that have successfully decompressed before it fails.

In any case. I have a serial number now and I can get it from FileConnect which allows you to download single parts of it. As I have a mac I only need to mac components which are now installed.
