    Hi everyone,

I had a 10gb PGP disk file (created with PGP8.1) that was lost along with some Windows start-up files. As soon as I realized that more than just some Windows files had been damaged, I immediately stopped the repair to the file structure and started up a data recovery program. The program found the deleted PGP disk (.PGD) file, and reconstructed it... well, them. So what started as a single 10gb .PGD file has now turned into four separate files, at 2.7gb, 1.6gb, 2.9gb, and 5.9gb. That is 13.1gb of data. Obviously, some, if not most, of the files that were stored in this disk will be corrupt and lost forever, but I would think that some may be saved. My problem here, as I figured it would be, is that I cannot decrypt the files with my passphrase. Again, obviously, if there were an easy workaround, PGP wouldn't be worth anything, but I'm hoping that by knowing my passphrase, that there may be a way to rebuild these files.

I would greatly appreciate any thoughts, or other avenues that I might try.

    Jeff

Bad idea. Data Recovery software usually damages encrypted data....

You can try to merge those files in a single file, change to pgp extension, try to open with pgp desktop.
