I have Symantec System Recovery 2011. I have a backup file that I need to get some files out of but the backup but when i try and load it it says that the CRC validation failed.

I do not need the whole thing to restore, just a few folders. Is there any way to force mount it or to explore the file?

Sorry to say but not as far as I know. You could open a support call and see if there is a way but i doubt that.

I spoke with support and they said there is nothing they can do. I was just asking the community if there was a solution that was not "symantec approved".

I appreciate your time and help on the matter.

Sorry to hear that, but please mark this post as solved anyway.

i have been doing more research. what version of ghost was the -crcignore switch removed? does the last version of ghost with that switch allow opening of V2i files?

why was the -crcignore ever removed from the products file explorers? seems to me it would be a great thing to have in them.
