  • 1.  Could Backup DLP 14 - Script

    Dear , 

    I need to do a could backup from de oracle data base , and I consult if cant use some script for this task.

    I have these questions, which of the following would be the recommended methods?

    Method 1 

    The step from a could backup are these?

    •    Vontu Monitor Controller (if applicable)
    •    Vontu Incident Persister
    •    Vontu Manager
    •    Vontu Notifier
    •    Vontu Update (if necessary)

    Stop de Oracle Services

    •    OracleVssWriterPROTECT
    •    OracleJobSchedulerPROTECT
    •    OracleMTSRecoveryService
    •    OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener
    •    OracleServicePROTECT
    •    Distributed Transaction Coordinator

    Make a backup from the data base folder E:\oracle\oradata\protect

    Later star the Oracle Services

    •    OracleVssWriterPROTECT
    •    OracleJobSchedulerPROTECT
    •    OracleMTSRecoveryService
    •    OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener
    •    OracleServicePROTECT
    •    Distributed Transaction Coordinator


    At last stat the Enforce services

    •    Vontu Notifier
    •    Vontu Manager
    •    Vontu Incident Persister
    •    Vontu Monitor Controller (if applicable)
    •    Vontu Update (if necessary)

     

    Method 2 

    Only Stop de Oracle Services

    •    OracleVssWriterPROTECT
    •    OracleJobSchedulerPROTECT
    •    OracleMTSRecoveryService
    •    OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener
    •    OracleServicePROTECT
    •    Distributed Transaction Coordinator

    Make a backup from the data base folder E:\oracle\oradata\protect

    Method #1 would be the best option, stop the Oracle Services, stop the Enforce SErvices, perform backup, then start the Oracle Services, Start the Enforce services.  The Oracle Installation guide talks about the process for doing this
