"Could not locate a required resource" when trying to unistall SEP on a Mac

  • 1.  "Could not locate a required resource" when trying to unistall SEP on a Mac

    Posted Feb 09, 2015 11:59 AM

I am running the Symantec Unistaller from the SEP_MAC\Symantec Uninstaller.app.tgz archive from CD1 of 12.1.5 on Mac OS X 10.10.2 and I'm getting an error which says:

"Symantec Uninstaller could not load a required resource. Please try running the uninstall application included on the CD, or contact Symantec for assistance."

This is the 4th system I've run this on - the other 3 ran perfetly fine. I have tried re-copying the file onto the system, and rebooting but get the same error each time.
