CPS Agent and Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider service

For the past several days, one of our servers that has the CPS remote agent on it is continually getting these messages in the Event Log:

Event Type:Information

Event Category:None
Event ID:7036
Date:4/7/2006
Time:1:33:13 PM
User:N/A

Description:
The Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider service entered the stopped state.

These messages occur approx. every 13 minutes, ad go away completely if we turn off all CPS services on this server. We have not seen this behavior on this server before, and our other servers with CPS agent installed do not have these messages in the event log.

I too get event id 7035 and 7036 every 9 to 13 minutes. After seeing this post I stopped all CPS services and the events stopped. I've never configured CPS, I just installed and left it as is. I do use Backup Exec 10.x and I have no problems with it. Please help.

I have the same as well, and I need to turn off the log spam. I am suprised at how little documentation I have been able to find concerning this.

Here is what support said, "Any application that makes a call to the VSS component of Windows 2003 is going to cause this to happen."

Hopefully, I can get a confirmation from other CPS users here that it's normal for this service to start and stop every 9 to 13 minutes.
