This issue has been solved. See solution.

Server: VMware; Windows 2008, 64 bit.

The CPU goes from 15% to 100%, then back down to 15% and back up to 100%.  The only thing i can see id the dbsrv9.exe*32 and semsvc.exe*32 are taking all the CPU.

Check the file Ersecreg.log

Check the file Ersecreg.log at the following location

C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\inbox\log

See if it has Server is busy for Registration  and <IP Address>-FAILED messages. If this is there in the log then it could be that Multiple clients are trying to connect to the server with an incorrect domain ID.

Try replacing the sylink.xml file on all the computers. Or the computers those have Failed message in the above log file.

Thanks & Regards,
Mudit Kumar

Hm, could you check Java heap for SEPM?

Go to registry  HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/semsrv/parameters

and check values of two keys:

JVM Option Number 0 and JVM Option Number 1

you said that when you open

you said that when you open the SEPM the usage goes high upto 100%

can you check the taskmanager to see which process consumes the CPU if its PHP-cgi then I would like to know was this an upgarde?

if yes then do we have an option to uninstall & reinstall the MR6 MP2 as that has made some improvement in PHP.

CPU @ 100%

Hello,

I'm having the same problem, but the process that consumes more CPU is WMIPRSSE.EXE (~ 40%).

Is running on Windows 2003.

Thanks!

CPU and Network Utilization go up and down on a regular basis

Hi all,

similar trouble on a W2k3 (virtual with MS hypervisor), SEPM dedicated, 2cpu, 3Gb ram, fresh install, not been upgraded.

CPU and Network Utilization go to 100% for few seconds, then to normal state for few seconds and so on a regular basis when console is open. All is Ok if you close the console.

SEPM version is 11.0.6100.645, DB runs on a MS SQL 2005 (on a separated physical machine), 100 clients.

JVM Option Number 0 is: xms128m

JVM Option Number 1 is: xmx512m

Maybe some trouble concerning virtual machines?

Any ideas?

Thanks

I have the same problem-

Hi all,

about JVM option:

the 0 one is set to -Xms512m

the 1 one is set to -Xms1024m

is that good?

SemSvm.exe reached sometimes 500mb (after I terminate it- it's 160mb)

dbsv9 is always between 100-160mb.

my server is calling for help repeatedly!
