This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi!

I need help.

I've set up a Server Management Suite and distributed Agents to servers. Installation is brand new and clean (I did a re-install, I also have backup of old installation so I cal allways rollback :)).

If I turn on Agent based policy Windows 2003/Process, it will create a warning saying that that CPU load is over 85% and then warning that processor load is over 95%.. And it does that even for servers that has processor load of 0% !

Why is it doing that? Is it possible that for some reason Monitor Agent that collects information "peaks" CPU so that when it collects information it allways puts CPU to maximum load?

And another thing are Historical data, but I'm opening own thread about that...

But, does anyone have any idea why is CPU metrics saying that even those servers that do nothing (even tried with test server that has _nothing_ else running than altiris agent) have high CPU load.

Regards,
Janne

Janne, Does the alert clear

Janne,
Does the alert clear after a time?  I actually don't use Monitor Solution here, but I'm wondering if it is just a temporary issue as you say when the Agent is first rolled out, and clears shortly thereafter?

What version of Monitor are you using (6.x or 7.x)?

Thanks,
Kyle

Issue with evaluation

Hi Janne,
As far as I know there is a problem with the evaluation of the CPU metric. It doesn't keep the time thresshold. So if the CPU just spikes above 85% it will trigger an alert.

Hi Janne, I think you have

Hi Janne,

I think you have this problem because of the known issue in Monitor Solution 7.0 SP4. Please refer to this KB article - https://kb.altiris.com/display/1/articleDirect/index.asp?aid=52016. Hopefully the fix for the problem will be available soon (in SMP 7.0 SP4 HF1).

Thanks,
Andrew.

Thank you Andrew. I'm quite sure that it is that problem.

Do you have any idea that when that fix is coming? In few weeks or months?

Janne
