  • 1.  Create and Restore Image w/Raid Controller

I have a RocketRaid 1740 (PCI slot) controller card (RAID 0, 2x80 sata drives) build that I want to image to server and/or DVD. I am new to RAID Controllers; What special drivers, or switches do I need to add to the boot disk to image client to server and to the the boot track to enable me to image from server/DVD to client using either floppy or DVD.

    Hi Harry,

RAID support for Ghost.exe purely depends on the controller emulating a physical disk under DOS. In early days, they used to ship a DOS driver you can use but nowadays it is very rare. However, most of RAID controllers emulate a physical disk under DOS.

I have used some RocketRaid controllers under DOS to create images successfully, but not sure about the particular model you use. However, if Ghost could see the Disk once boot to DOS, rest will be similar to imaging a single hard disk.

If it fails, the other possibility is using Ghost32 under WinPE, Since the card will have a Windows driver, you will be able to image it successfully.
